Friends
The Iraq Affinity Group agreet to table at this event by Oregon Physicians for
Social Responsibility because it is celebrating young people connecting climate
change and peace issues, and is featuring journalist Dahr Jamail, one of the
only people to independently report from Iraq during the invasion and
occupation. (Not that the occupation is really over, of course).

Mark your calendar now; you can also get a flyer for the event at our site at

Open to all Oregon high school juniors and seniors, the scholarship is an
opportunity for young people to share their ideas regarding the most
important issues of our time. This year's scholarship asked students
to respond to the following prompt:

*"How would a successful movement to confront climate change help create a
more just and peaceful world?"

Join us for remarks by Dahr Jamail, light hors d'oeuvres, tabling by Oregon
PSR and partner organizations, and a chance to hear from Oregon's youth
leaders for climate justice and peace.

Our distinguished panel of judges includes MiMi Bernal-Graves, Joe
Enlet, Se-ah-dom Edmo, Amber Keller, Colin Kerosky, John Pearson, Diana
Rempe, and Jan Zuckerman.
