Hi again
Sorry for any confusion: a few people had problems with the Facebook link
because I failed to put a space between the link and the footnote
indicator (**). This is the correct link, which I've fixed below and on
the web page.

  https://www.facebook.com/events/423604908531589

I also added to that web page the news that we have confirmed Theresa
Mitchell of KBOO will both be hosting the forum and covering the topic of
Yemen.

http://www.pjw.info/climate_war_forum110519.html

I have corrected all of this information below if you haven't forwarded
yesterday's email and want to forward this more complete one which should
have working links.

Thanks
dan handelman

CALENDAR LISTING / NEWS ITEM

Stop the Climate Crisis: End War
                         A forum including updates on
Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and other US "hotspots"
                           Tuesday, November 5, 2019
                                    7:00 PM
Augustana Lutheran Church Community Room (downstairs)
2710 NE 14th (corner of NE 15th and Knott), enter through breezeway

Local Code Pink staff person Cody Urban* will appear as part of a panel
discussion to link the issues of climate change and war, update the
community on US belligerence in Iran and Venezuela, focus on the US's role
in the war on Yemen, touch on US presence in Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria,
and more. Sahar Yarjani Muranovic, Executive Director of Oregon NOW, will
address US policy in Iran. Dan Shea of Veterans for Peace Chapter 72 will
talk about Venezuela, having visited that country in March 2019. Host
Theresa Mitchell of KBOO will also discuss US policy and the devastation
of Yemen. The event, titled "Stop the Climate Crisis: End War A forum
including updates on Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and other US 'hotspots'" will
take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 7 PM at the Augustana Lutheran
Church, 2710 NE 14th (at the corner of NE 15th and Knott). It is
accessible via the #8 Bus Line.

One reason organizers in the Peace and Justice Works Iraq Affinity
Group chose this date is that it's expected the City Council will be
considering a resolution opposing US intervention in Iran on Wednesday,
November 13 at 3:30 PM.

The forum is cosponsored by Veterans For Peace Chapter 72, Portland
Central America Solidarity Committee, Jewish Voice for Peace-Portland,
Code Pink Portland, Hands Off Venezuela PDX and KBOO Community Radio.
It is endorsed by the Pacific Green Party.

A flyer for the event can be found at

is at https://www.facebook.com/events/423604908531589 **
