Hello Iraq Affinity Group supporters

This is a reminder about the PPRC Friday Rally coming up this week which
the IAG is cosponsoring to mark 18 years since the beginning of the Afghan
war. We last sent this info out on Sept. 10, noting you can also get info
at this link:

http://www.pjw.info/PPRCrally100419.html

There's a flyer for the event posted there, the link is in the listing
below. We'll be handing out the same fact sheets we used on 9/11, noting
that the military's new recruits are 9/11 children and asking the
question, "Why won't the US military leave Afghanistan?"

"Why Won't the US Military Leave Afghanistan?
                                  Rally/ March
                             Friday, October 4, 2019
                                     5:00 PM
Pioneer Courthouse Square, SW Yamhill and Broadway

Join the Peace and Justice Works Iraq Affinity Group as they cosponsor
the weekly Portland Peaceful Response Coalition Rally and March for
Peace and Justice on Friday, October 4 at 5 PM at Pioneer Courthouse
Square, SW Yamhill and Broadway. The US invaded Afghanistan a few weeks
after 9/11. Now 18 years later, the Trump administration has negotiated
with the Taliban for a way for the US to extract itself from "America's
     longest war."

The plans call for leaving thousands of US troops in Afghanistan--
nearly 9000 of the 14,000 currently there. The Pentagon, pundits and
some Democratic presidential candidates are all supporting the idea of
staying in Afghanistan-- presumably indefinitely. Join us at this
special version of the weekly Friday rally to say "Bring ALL the Troops
     Home from Afghanistan!"

PPRC has held a rally every Friday since November 2001, shortly after
the invasion, to protest the war and other US policies (more than 925
weeks in a row). For more information or to get involved contact the
Peace and Justice Works Iraq Affinity Group at 503-236-3065 (voice or
text), email iraq at pjw.info , or visit the website at
http://www.pjw.info. A flyer is available at
http://www.pjw.info/PPRCrally100419.pdf. A fact sheet about the
eighteen-year war and its implication is at
     http://www.pjw.info/911_18yl_facts.pdf .
