Hi
This email from (me at) Flying Focus Video Collective announces that video
from the July 28, 2019 (!) march and rally against war and for justice is
finally airing this coming week on cable tv (and streaming on Friday night
for those who can "tune in" at 9:30 PM).
It is jarring to be nostalgic about marching in the streets as a thing of
the past, but one day we will be out there again. Hopefully not too soon,
though with Pompeo and Trump stepping up their rhetoric about Iran we need
to keep supporting congressional efforts to say no to war.

Protest against wars in Iran and Venezuela (from July!) this week on the Video
Bus
In July, 2019, 36 organizations cosponsored a march and rally to oppose
threatened US wars in Iran and Venezuela, as well as a host of other policies
such as deadly sanctions, environmental injustice, inappropriate criminalizing
of immigrants, and more. This video includes most of the speakers from the
rally at Waterfront Park, and a few short clips from the beginning of the march
as it headed out around downtown Portland. Speakers include Sahar Yarjani
Muranovic, an Iranian American and president of Oregon's National Organization
for Women; Olivia Katbi Smith, co-leader of Portland Democratic Socialists of
America; investigative reporter Arun Gupta; Candy Herrera, co-founder of Hands
Off Venezuela PDX; Antonio Zamora of Demand Utopia, and Marco Mejia, a local
human and immigrant rights activist.
The main organizer of the event was Peace and Justice Works Iraq Affinity
Group. Emma Lugo from that group, who also hosts radio shows on KBOO-FM,
appears briefly hosting the rally.
Flying Focus has produced this show during the COVID-19 stay-at-home orders.
Don't let the lack of social distancing from the summer of 2019 distract you
from the information, which is all sadly still relevant as the US continues to
ratchet up pressure on Iran and Venezuela even during the pandemic.
This show was produced by Dan Handelman and recorded by PC Peri.
"No Wars in Iran or Venezuela-- 7/19" will play back at the following times;
note you can see the Friday 9:30 PM Pacific show online streaming live.
Monday, April 27 at 6 PM on Comcast Channel 22 / CenturyLink Channel

and

obtained for $75 per program (individuals / nonprofits) or $125 (larger
institutions). Once you obtain streaming rights, the show can be posted on line
for all the world to see-- for free, on your own site or ours. See our current

PS: Open Signal/PCM continues to cablecast all programs with "letterboxing" so
that our shows, created in old-school 4:3 format, appear in the middle of your
screen. Also, our Wednesday show is carried on Comcast's High Definition
channel 322 on Tuesday mornings, channel 323 on Wednesday nights and
CenturyLink's channel 1011 on Fridays, but our shows are not yet produced in
HD.
