SAVE THE DATE: Virtual memorial for Yvonne Simmons

To friends, colleagues, fans and family of Yvonne Simmons

There will be an online memorial for Yvonne held on Sunday, September 25 
at 12:00 noon PDT via Zoom. It is planned to last until 1:30 PM but could 
run longer depending how many people wish to speak for as long as three 
minutes in tribute/rememberance. Technical support will be provided by 
Open Signal/Portland Community Media, which will allow for music, video, 
photos and, for those who choose, pre-recorded comments to be included in 
the event.

If you want to secure a speaking slot, please contact Dan Handelman at 
Peace and Justice Works, pjw at pjw.info, by Friday, September 23 at 1 PM. 
There will also be the opportunity to speak spontaneously at the event.

If you have video, audio or photos to share, please upload them to 
WeTransfer.com no later than Sunday, September 18 at 11:59 PM (this is to 
ensure Open Signal has the material in a timely way-- sorry for the short 
notice!).

The memorial will eventually be edited together to play back on cable TV 
and likely on YouTube. If you do not want your segment to be used for wide 
broadcasst please let us know when you sign up or when you begin speaking.


Yvonne's amazing life ended on July 2 but her lifetime of working for 
peace, justice, women's rights, and helping children and animals endures.
