Hello IAG supporters

It's that time of year to remember the work of Martin Luther King, Jr.,
not just for racial equality but for peace and justice. Of course the
mainstream celebrations don't like to focus on the Riverside Church speech
"Beyond Viet Nam" where King talked about the "the triple evils of racism,
economic exploitation, and militarism."

This is also the 33rd anniversary of the date the US gave as a deadline
for Iraq to get out of Kuwait. George Bush I probably thought he was being
nice by not actually starting the attack on Iraq in MLK's birthday (which,
as sometimes happens, is today, the same day it's celebrated this year),
but instead waiting until Jan. 16.

This gave me a reminder to "flip over" another year on my picket sign,
which I'll carry on Friday. (You may remember that the one that was for
20-29 years later wore out from being around so long).

OK, thanks and be sure to honor Dr King by working for equality, peace and
justice.
