the School Board expected to happen tomorrow night, Tuesday May 7, with a 
rally at 5 PM before the 6:00 meeting.

Friends,

On Tuesday, May 7th, the Portland School Board is expected to vote on the 
proposal to invite the Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps into our 
high schools. Some board members seem undecided about how to vote.

*We need a strong community presence to keep JROTC out of Portland*.

·      cuts to more effective educational programs

·      additional cuts to high school staff

·      former military instructors posing as real teachers

·      a war-based curriculum out of the 1950s

·      more targeting of black, brown, and poor students

·      more intense military recruiting in our schools
