[pjw] INITIAL REPORT BACK: March and rally!

Hello folks

I want to thank everyone for their hard work in getting today's event 
together, even if all you did was show up and listen, hold a sign, or come 
on the march. The event went really well, and the police let us march in 
the street even though they were dubious that we had 200 people there (the 
minimum they required to take the street). Not everyone who was at the 
rally marched... but everything went fine. We got lots of thumbs ups and 
peace signs along the way. If there were any hecklers or detractors I did not 
see them or hear about it.

I wasn't able to listen to all the speakers but it seemed they were well 
received by the crowd. They touched on all the political platform points 
outlined in the event literature.

Those of you who see this in time-- channel 6 (KOIN) and channel 8 (KGW) had 
cameras there, at least in the park, and each have 5 PM and 11 PM news today. 
(KGW's news also runs on the CW affiliate channel 32 at 10). If anyone can 
make a recording let me know.

Considering we pulled this together in less than 6 weeks and pulled in 36 
groups to support it I think overall we should be pleased and hope we 
don't have to keep marching... but we will until we stop these wars.
