[pjw] Next Iraq AG meeting is Monday June 17 + Report back on Rose Festival

Hello Iraq Affinity Group supporters

I'm not sure whether we sent out notice last month when we decided to 
delay the Iraq AG meeting this month, it will be on the third Monday (June 
17) not tomorrow as it would normally be. If you can attend please do, we 
can also plug in 1-3 people by phone if need be.

Yesterday at the Rose Festival we got a slightly late start-up having the 
tower put up, as traffic was held up for over 20 minutes while police 
escorted empty floats down Naito Parkway. Live and learn I guess.

We had probably about 2/3 negative comments, starting with someone 
responding to the "War is not family fun" message by shouting "War IS 
family fun" from their car. ?!? Most naysayers were telling us that we had 
the freedom to protest because of the strong military, etc.

We also had quite a few people thanking us, giving thumbs up, and two 
people even stopped to take literature.

The War Resisters League and its supporters were well represented, and 
a Flying Focus Video Collective videographer recorded interviews which we 
hope to have edited in the next month or two.
