Hello Iraq Affinity Group supporters and allies
Below is an UPDATED version of the event listing for our November 5 forum
tying together climate issues and several areas where the US is supporting
or inching toward war (with updates on areas where wars are ongoing).
The forum is now being cosponsored by KBOO Community Radio-- and we've got
KBOO's Theresa Mitchell hosting the forum.
There's an updated flyer on the website, check it out and spread the word!

Local Code Pink staff person Maya Rommwatt will appear as part of a
panel discussion to link the issues of climate change and war, update
the community on US belligerence in Iran and Venezuela, focus on the
US's role in the war on Yemen, touch on US Present in Iraq, Afghanistan
and Syria, and more. Sahar Yarjani Muranovic, Executive Director of
Oregon NOW, will address US policy in Iran. Dan Shea of Veterans for
Peace Chapter 72 will talk about Venezuela, having visited that country
in March 2019. The event, titled "Stop the Climate Crisis: End War A
forum including updates on Iran, Venezuela, Yemen and other US
'hotspots'" will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 7 PM at the
Augustana Lutheran Church, 2710 NE 14th (at the corner of NE 15th and
Knott). It is accessible via the #8 Bus Line.
One reason organizers in the Peace and Justice Works Iraq Affinity
Group chose this date is that it's expected the City Council will be
considering a resolution opposing US intervention in Iran on Wednesday,
November 13 at 3:30 PM.
The forum is cosponsored by Veterans For Peace Chapter 72, Portland
Central America Solidarity Committee, Jewish Voice for Peace-Portland
and KBOO Community Radio. It is endorsed by the Pacific Green Party.
A flyer for the event can be found at
