Hi again PJW supporters
I'm stewing over here at President Trump's pardon of the war criminals
from Blackwater who killed Iraqis and have now been exonerated by another
war criminal. The family of a 9 years old they killed talked to ABC news.

Anyway, I'm including last week's invitation to this Friday's 1000th
Friday Rally for Peace and Justice, now just 2 days away on Christmas day.
I realized I didn't put RSVP on the original-- right now I _think_ we have
six or seven people coming. If you plan to attend let me know so I can
pack enough signs into the wagon.
Hoping to see folks there!

Join Peace and Justice Works and friends as we celebrate the 1000th weekly
Friday Rally for Peace and Justice at the corner of SW Yamhill and
Broadway in Portland on Friday, December 25-- Christmas Day 2020 at 5 PM.
As we have done at almost every rally since November 2001, we will stand
visibly sharing our messages on signs, relay information about
international, national and local peace issues, and go on a short (15
minute) march around downtown. We'd especially like to see people who have
been regulars over the 19+ years of the rally-- "come all ye faithful."
PLEASE only attend if you feel safe physically, please wear a face
covering and keep a safe distance from others.

readerboard calling the community to attend the rally:

This is not a religious event at all, just coincidentally this anniversary
falls on Christmas. However, attending the rallies has been compared to a
spiritual gathering as we convene every week to think about, act upon and
share our collective desire for peace on earth.
As we've noted in earlier emails, attending even the large racial
justice rallies has not been the cause of any outbreak of COVID in Oregon:
https://www.oregonlive.com/portland/2020/11/county-investigators-find-no-link-between-covid-19-outbreaks-and-local-protests.html
...and the law tends to be on our side to gather under the pandemic.

That said, our gatherings this year have all been fewer than 10 people, and we
are able to remain six feet or more apart even if more than that show up.
We hope to see you there on the 25th!!!
Feel free to share widely
